$a = 1; b = - 2; c = - 3$

$x_{1, 2} = \frac{- (- 2) \pm \sqrt{{(- 2)}^{2} - 4 \cdot 1 \cdot (- 3)}}{2 \cdot 1}$

$x_{1, 2} = \frac{- (- 2) \pm \sqrt{4 + 12}}{2}$

$x_{1, 2} = \frac{- (- 2) \pm \sqrt{16}}{2}$

$x_{1, 2} = \frac{- (- 2) \pm 4}{2}$

$x_{1} = \frac{2 + 4}{2} = \frac{6}{2} = 3$

$x_{2} = \frac{2 - 4}{2} = \frac{- 2}{2} = - 1$

$x_{1} = 3; x_{2} = - 1$
